About

Davina Parypa is a contemporary impressionist artist who lives and works in Boise, Idaho. A native of the Pacific Northwest, her colorful paintings are inspired by the lives and landscapes unique to this corner of the world. Her works explore the emotion and the stories that connect the region to the people and animals that call it their home.

Rugged landscapes, local birds and flowers, festivals, rodeos, and ranchers tending their flocks are all brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors in bold compositions. As the artist explains, “I want to share the mood while connecting the viewer to a visual sense of movement through the use of color and line.”

Ms. Parypa used her innate talent to win prizes as a child. As a teenager she had her first encounter with a professional, Jerry Stitt, after signing up for his watercolor workshop offered the summer of 1974. He inspired her to further explore drawing and painting while also exposing her to artist greats such as Renoir, Van Gogh, John Sargent Singer, and other Impressionist greats that continue to influence her style.
